Studiobricks booth with Vicoustic absorbers used as Studio for Depeche Mode's forthcoming album
NEW YORK CITY – Studiobricks,
manufacturer of Sound Isolation Enclosures, is pleased to announce that
engineer Kurt Uenala has installed an 2,40 x 3,60 Studiobricks booth in
New York City’s Studio Blanco, where he works with Depeche Mode
front-man, Dave Gahan. The two just completed writing songs and cutting
demos for Depeche Mode’s thirteenth release, due in Spring 2013.
"We
searched for a long time to find a solution for Dave's Studio Blanco as
the space is an extremely modern and edgy design”, Kurt said, “It would
have been a sin to ruin the room with ugly sound absorbent materials or
a grey carpeted isolation/vocal booth. We were blown away by the beauty
of the Studiobricks design and the sound inside the room is great,
thanks to the Vicoustic absorbers and reflectors. In NYC, with people
living stacked on top of each other like sardines, Studiobricks enables
you to crank up the speakers and not get the police called on you by the
neighbors”.
Originally from Aadorf, in northeastern
Switzerland, Kurt attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston before
relocating to New York in 2000. Since moving to the Big Apple, he has
worked on albums, singles and remixes for Erasure, Moby, The
Raveonettes, Yelle, Nellie McKay and Soulsavers. Kurt also works on his
own all-electronic solo project, Kap10kurt, when his busy production
schedule allows.
